HERE’S THE TEXT

(This contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ close the tab)

Finally saw ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and it was WAY better than I expected. I gotta be honest, I didn’t really have much expectations. To back track, the last movie in the X-Men series was a prequel called “First Class”. I thought it was a great movie and it was a relief because ‘X-Men: Last Stand’ was TRASH (to me).

The thing with the X-Men series is, it never really lived up to what I think anyone expected. I mean, Sentinels were a huge part of the X-Men Comic books but you don’t formally introduce them until NOW? The cartoon series was even on a grander scale than the X-Men, 1,2 and 3. The introduction of Phoenix was disappointing, the death of Cyclops, weak. No disrespect to all the writers and directors who worked on those films… they weren’t bad movies… (Well, Last Stand was pretty bad).

Anyway, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ exceeded my expectations and was a great movie. The way it fixed all of the things that went wrong was merging the two generations and ending it showing that Rouge was there, Cyclops, and Jean. That short ending piece corrected all of the mistakes from the past. To me, everything is forgiven. This movie was like a clean slate. So, Thank you Bryan Singer…

Sidenote: I’m happy the next movie will continue from the First Class side of things.
